The Balancing Act
On living & creating with intention
The truest statement about a balanced life is that it will not be balanced all the time.
Life has seasons. It pulls us in multiple directions, often all at once. It’s not balanced because it’s not done. It’s balancing—an act, a verb, not a noun.
It’s in motion, ongoing. It flows up and down, but over time it finds a certain pace, a certain rhythm—something that starts to feel like your own. It feels intentional. It has room for growth, for change. And it is manageable, even when it doesn’t feel like it is.
I certainly don’t have it all figured out. But I believe there’s value in sharing what I’m learning in the middle of the process.
The Balancing Act is my place to do that—and maybe it will become a place for you too.
You’ll find thoughts on intentional living and organization, not as a way to do more, but as a way to create space—for clarity, for attention, for the things that matter.
I’ll share reflections on motherhood—the beautiful, exhausting, soul-expanding parts—and the small adjustments that make daily life feel a little lighter, calmer, or simply more doable.
You’ll also find pieces of my work, and the way those moments of stillness, light, and observation are not separate from life—but shaped by it.
Because for me, it’s all part of the same thing.
I know what it feels like to hold many roles at once: mom, artist, business owner, partner, friend—trying to move through it all with intention, not just momentum.
And I’m learning that balance isn’t something you achieve once and hold onto.
It’s something you return to.
Something you adjust.
Something you learn to recognize.
My hope is that this space reminds you that balance isn’t about perfection—it’s about paying attention and giving yourself grace when things tilt off-center (because they will).
I’m so glad you’re here.
With love,
Val
